SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George Cyriel Lambrecht of East Moline,
4who passed away on January 12, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Lambrecht was born in East Moline to Cyriel
6Lambrecht and Bertha Goethals Lambrecht on December 29, 1926;
7he attended United Township High School where he and his high
8school golf team placed in state; he married the love of his
9life, Rachael Jackson Lambrecht, at St. Mary's Catholic Church
10in Rock Island on August 22, 1953; and
 
11    WHEREAS, George Lambrecht enlisted in the U.S. Navy and
12served for two years as a Gunner's Mate on one of the Navy's
13Landing Craft Support Ships in the Pacific; after returning
14home from his service, he became a firefighter with the East
15Moline Fire Department; he eventually became Assistant Fire
16Chief before retiring after 25 years of service; he also worked
17as a realtor and sold hundreds of homes in the East Moline
18area; and
 
19    WHEREAS, George Lambrecht developed his love of golf while
20working as a young caddy at the Short Hills Country Club in
21East Moline, which was his favorite golf course; he loved his
22family and his country; and

1    WHEREAS, George Lambrecht was preceded in death by his
2wife, Rachael Jackson Lambrecht; his parents, Cyriel Lambrecht
3and Bertha Goethals Lambrecht; his sisters, Helen Lambrecht
4Verstraete and Gabrielle Lambrecht; his brother, Ralph
5Lambrecht; and his daughter, Ann Lambrecht; and
 
6    WHEREAS, George Lambrecht is survived by his sister,
7Margaret Lambrecht Cook; his brother, Al Lambrecht; his
8children, Joan Lambrecht Cook, John (Nicki) Lambrecht, Dan
9(Valare) Lambrecht, Dave (LaTres) Lambrecht; his
10grandchildren, Kevin Cook, Joe Lambrecht, Matt Cook, Jay
11Lambrecht, Scott Lambrecht, Marc Crawmer, Adam Lambrecht,
12Tyler Lambrecht, Jacob Lambrecht, and Ariana Lambrecht; and his
1318 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16George Cyriel Lambrecht and extend our sincere condolences to
17his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of George Lambrecht as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
