SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Archie Lee Spann Jr. of Rock Island, who
4passed away on January 9, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Archie Spann Jr. was born in Wilson, Arkansas to
6Archie G. Spann Sr. and Minnie Shaw on June 26, 1943; his
7stepfather, Isaac T. Vaughn, played a big role in his life; he
8served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married
9Juanita Ivy in Louisville, Mississippi on July 4, 1971; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Archie Spann Jr. worked for John Deere Harvester
11Works as a drill press operator; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Archie Spann Jr. enjoyed motorcycle riding,
13hanging out with his friends at the park, and spending time
14with family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Archie Spann Jr. was preceded in death by his
16parents and sister, Dorothy Christopher; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Archie Spann Jr. is survived by his wife, Juanita
18Spann; his children, Keith Spann, Archie B. Spann, Kevin
19(Lisetta Coleman-Spann) Spann, Minnie (Damon Locke)
20Spann-Locke, and Chasidy Spann; his grandchildren, Armando,

1Relmilio, Asya, Reuben, Odessa, Jahleel, Davoria, Damari, and
2Da'Montrez; a host of great-grandchildren; his siblings,
3Thomas "Tony" L. (Denise) Spann, Mabel Gibbs, Elaine Ross,
4Janice Gouse, James B. (Patricia) Vaughn Sr., and Issac (Bessie
5"Neicie") Christopher; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Archie Lee Spann Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Archie Spann Jr. as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
