SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Juanita Johnessee of Bunker Hill, who
4passed away on January 15, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Juanita Johnessee was born in Clementsville,
6Kentucky to Logan Pettyjohn and Eva Atwood Pettyjohn on
7February 27, 1934; she graduated from Bunker Hill High School
8in 1952 and married Robert F. Johnessee at the Berean Baptist
9Church in Bunker Hill on September 4, 1953; she was a homemaker
10and a member of the Berean Baptist Church; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Juanita Johnessee was preceded in death by her
12parents, Logan Pettyjohn and Eva Atwood Pettyjohn; her sisters,
13Janeva Garrison and Beatrice Throne; and her brothers, Roy
14Pettyjohn, Lee Pettyjohn, and Coy Pettyjohn; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Juanita Johnessee is survived by her husband,
16Robert F. Johnessee; her children, Robert L. (Heidi) Johnessee
17and Deborah Dorrington; her grandchildren, Major Robert
18(Veronica) Johnessee, Brian (Sara) Johnessee, Bethany (Joshua)
19Eldridge, Sara (Eric) Cayton, James Dorrington, and Benjamin
20(Christi) Dorrington; her nine great-grandchildren; and her
21sister, Thelma "Poodle" Roberts; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Juanita Johnessee and extend our sincere condolences to her
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Juanita Johnessee as an expression
8of our deepest sympathy.
