SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Pamela "Pam" Green of Urbana, who passed
4away on December 26, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pam Green was born to James and Alice Smith in
61951; she was active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, where she
7exuded a free spirit, camping, climbing, hiking, and
8spelunking; she graduated from Urbana High School in 1969,
9where she was the class secretary, and from the University of
10Illinois in 1973; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Pam Green was a devoted teacher for 34 years and
12left an impression on countless colleagues and young minds at
13Homer, Ogden, and Yankee Ridge elementary schools; and
 
14    WHEREAS, In retirement, Pam Green always looked forward to
15her time as a volunteer classroom aide in her granddaughter's
16first-grade class; she enjoyed spending time with her
17grandchildren, letterboxing with her friends, and
18bargain-hunting with her sister and sister-in-law; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Pam Green was often described as selfless,
20patient, and understanding, but above all else, she cared for
21and respected every person she encountered; and

1    WHEREAS, Pam Green is survived by her husband of 44 years,
2Ron Green; her siblings, Nancy (Alan) Joseph and Kenneth (Pat)
3Smith; her son, Randy (Theresa) Green; her sister-in-law, Linda
4Green; and her grandchildren, Adelyn and Rowen; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Pamela "Pam" Green and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Pam Green as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
