SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Elliott of Bunker Hill, who
4passed away on December 1, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Elliott was born in Montgomery County,
6Tennessee to Gullie E. and Elizabeth (Elrod) Elliott; he served
7in the U.S. Army and was discharged in February of 1947; he
8married Lena Maxine Forsyth in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on
9February 8, 1947, and they relocated to Alton; they moved to
10the Bunker Hill area in 1960; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Elliott was employed at the Alton Box
12Board until retiring in 1982; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Elliott was affectionately known as "RC";
14he was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and coached his
15sons' baseball teams from Khourey League age to American Legion
16age; he also enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play high
17school basketball; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Elliott was preceded in death by his wife,
19Lena; his parents; his sisters, Roberta and Maxine; and his
20brothers, Charles, Jerome, and Bobbie; and

1    WHEREAS, Richard Elliott is survived by his sons, Richard
2D. (Vicki) and Terry (Carol); his grandchildren, Richard D.
3Elliott Jr. (Mike), Hiedi (Kevin) Stammer, Toby Elliott, Chad
4(Keri) Elliott, and Corey (Nicole) Elliott; and his
5great-grandchildren, Chelsea Jarden, Jake Stammer, Kailee
6Elliott, Alicia Elliott, Sean Rose, and Ryan Elliott;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Richard Elliott and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Richard Elliott as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
