SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kimberly A. "Kim" Hopper of Raymond, who
4passed away on November 11, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kim Hopper was born in Sullivan, Indiana to
6Gregory Carl and Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Mills Boyd on August
731, 1975; she graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a
8bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in English and a
9teacher's certification; she married Aaron W. Hopper in
10Westfield on June 8, 1996; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kim Hopper worked as an English and psychology
12teacher and librarian at South Central School; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Kim Hopper took on the role of teacher and filled
14leadership roles at Pleasant Hill Christian Church near
15Raymond; she was the Vacation Bible School director and the
16youth director at church camp; she was the lifeguard at the
17Salvation Army Youth Camp and director for the Panhandle PTO
18Scholastic Book Fair; she helped with youth sporting events
19throughout the year and served as secretary for six years on
20the Doyle Public Library Board; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Kim Hopper was preceded in death by her father,

1Greg, and her grandparents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Kim Hopper is survived by her husband, Aaron; her
3children, Emily Grace, Evan Wesley, and Eden Faith; her mother,
4Betty (Richard) Hippler; her siblings, Cindi (Jay) Lewis, Amy
5Mullen, Sarah (Jeremy) Tomes, Robert (Jenni) Boyd, John
6(Amanda) Boyd, and Brian (Missie) Duvall; her father-in-law and
7mother-in-law, Jim and Marie Hopper; her brother-in-law,
8Jeremy (Jane) Hopper; her sister-in-law, Rebekah (Sean)
9Lybarger; her grandmother-in-law, Fairy Alice Mills; and 15
10nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Kimberly A. "Kim" Hopper and extend our sincere condolences to
14her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Kim Hopper as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
