SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leona "Peg" Bergman, formerly of Joliet,
4who passed away on November 10, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Peg Bergman was born to John and Dora
6(Bourguignon) Ahrens on January 31, 1922; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Peg Bergman retired from Joliet Central High
8School after 20 years as the Secretary to Dean of Students; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Peg Bergman was a lifetime member of St. Peter
10Lutheran Church, where she served as a ladies aide; she was a
11member of the Business and Professional Women's Club for 50
12years; she was a former president of the Will County PTA and
13the Joliet Women's Club; she volunteered at the Joliet Area
14Community Hospice and the Rialto Square Theater; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Peg Bergman was preceded in death by her husband,
16Raymond Bergman; her parents; and her sister, Dorothy Nippa;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Peg Bergman is survived by her son, Jay (Lori)
19Bergman; her nephew, Douglas (Karen) Nippa; her niece, Loral
20Czerkies; her great-niece, Courtney Nippa; her great-nephew,

1Aaron Czerkies; and her former daughter-in-law, Darlene
2Bergman; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Leona "Peg" Bergman and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Peg Bergman as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
