SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Silvestre "Joe" Torres Jr. of Moline, who
4passed away on November 1, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joe Torres was born in San Antonio, Texas to
6Silvestre Sr. and Gloria (Cardenas) Torres on February 12,
71944; he married Mary Ann Minor in Moline on January 27, 1968;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joe Torres was employed at Sears Automotive as an
10inspector until his retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joe Torres enjoyed golf, working around his home
12and yard, and watching the Chicago Cubs; in his youth, he
13enjoyed fishing and hunting; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joe Torres was preceded in death by his wife, Mary
15Ann, and his brother, Armando Torres; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joe Torres is survived by his daughter, Lisa
17Torres; his son, Alan Torres; his sisters, Grace (Bill)
18Gottschalk and Yolanda "Yoli" Jackson; and his brother, Raul
19(Liz) Torres; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Silvestre "Joe" Torres Jr. and extend our sincere condolences
4to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
5it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Joe Torres as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
