SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph Henry "Joe" Niemietz of North
4Chicago, who passed away on November 6, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz was born in Waukegan to Henry and
6Olga (Maslowski) Niemietz on December 25, 1947; he graduated
7from Holy Rosary Grade School, North Chicago Community High
8School, and the DeVry Institute with a degree in electronic
9technology; he served with the U.S. Army as a missile control
10tech during the Vietnam War; he married Susan Killoran on
11February 14, 1976; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz worked for Streeter Richardson in
13Grayslake for 16 years; he retired from Tecnova in Waukegan in
142015 after 27 years of service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz belonged to the Polish Legion of
16American Veterans, Casimir Pulaski Post 25 and the
17International Polka Association; he was a trumpet player with
18the Polka Lads Orchestra, the Casey Siewierski Orchestra, and
19many other Polka bands in the area; he had a passion for Polka
20music; he began playing at a very young age and loved to write
21and record in his home studio; he loved his family and took
22pride in taking care of his yard and home; and

1    WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz was preceded in death by his parents;
2his stepmother, Joyce; his brother, William; and his in-laws,
3John and Harriet Killoran; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz is survived by his wife of 43 years,
5Susan; his daughter, Katherine (Craig) Morey; his son, John;
6his granddaughters, Brittany and Amanda Morey; his brothers,
7Timothy (Cheryl) and Raymond Niemietz; his sister, Darlene
8(Peter) Lavris; his brother-in-law, John (Paddi) Killoran; and
9numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Joseph Henry "Joe" Niemietz and extend our sincere condolences
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Joe Niemietz as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
