SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roy William "Bill" Leopard of Illinois
4City, who passed away on October 11, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Leopard was born in Centerville, Iowa to
6William H. Jr. and Ruth (Stroud) Leopard on September 9, 1943;
7he served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years, two years
8active duty and four in the Navy Reserve; he married Sandra
9DeClercq in Andalusia on November 22, 1962; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bill Leopard worked as a piece maker in the
11Cylinder Division at John Deere Harvester Works; he retired in
121994 after 30 years of service to Deere and Company; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Leopard was a member of the American Legion;
14he was also an avid fisherman and hunter; fishing was his
15passion, and he loved passing on his knowledge to his
16grandchildren; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bill Leopard was preceded in death by his
18daughter, Christie Leopard; his grandchildren, Braeden Leopard
19and Dakota Roate; and his parents; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bill Leopard is survived by his wife, Sandy; his

1children, William (Annette) Leopard and Brandy (John) Young;
2his grandchildren, Joseph (Kayleene) Leopard, Zeth Leopard,
3and Nathan Leopard; and his great-grandchildren, Hailey,
4Lexie, Ryliegh, Ian, and Kiptyn; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Roy William "Bill" Leopard and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Bill Leopard as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
