SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eugene D. "Gene" Heller of El Paso, who
4passed away on October 27, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gene Heller was born in Secor to Martin "Bud" and
6Louise Schieber Heller on November 19, 1929; he served in the
7U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Doris A. Wadsworth
8in El Paso on October 1, 1950; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gene Heller and Doris founded Heller Ford in El
10Paso in February of 1957; he served as chairman of Ford Dealers
11Advertising Funds; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gene Heller was a member of Trinity Lutheran
13Church of El Paso, where he served as an elder; he was named El
14Paso Senior Citizen of the Year; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Gene Heller was preceded in death by his wife,
16Doris; his parents; and his brother, Paul Heller; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gene Heller is survived by his daughters, Cheryl
18(Jim) Higgins and Amy (Brian) Copple; his sons, Dan (Karen)
19Heller and Marty (Shelly) Heller; his exchange student, Alfredo
20"Chicho" (Tricia) Fernandez; his grandchildren, Brandi

1Higgins, Neil (Jennifer) Heller, Adam (Jaclyn) Heller, Moli
2(Alex) Koulos, Jake (Jordan Johns) Heller, Matt Copple, and
3Meghan Heller; and his great-grandchildren, Halle, Henry,
4Harrison, and Hayden Heller, plus two more on the way;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Eugene D. "Gene" Heller and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Gene Heller as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
