SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marion Z. Thompson Jr. of Moline, who
4passed away on September 14, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marion Thompson was born in Ada, Oklahoma to
6Marion Sr. and Eva Lee (Davis) Thompson on September 26, 1931;
7he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married
8Helen Rogiers in Moline on April 16, 1955; he received his
9bachelor's degree from Augustana College and his Ph.D. from the
10University of Iowa; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Marion Thompson worked at the Rock Island Arsenal
12for 37 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Marion Thompson was a member of Sacred Heart
14Church in Moline; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Marion Thompson is survived by his wife, Helen;
16his children, Elizabeth, Thomas (Leslie), and James (Molly)
17Thompson; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Ben, Tony,
18Margaret, Jack, Gavin, Sara, and Caroline; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

2his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
