SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Verhaeghe of East Moline,
4who passed away on September 1, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe was born in Moline to Julius and
6Rachel Verhaeghe on August 6, 1927; he served in the United
7States Army during World War II; he married Joyce Moore at St.
8Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline on July 14, 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, In 1985, Bob Verhaeghe retired from John Deere
10Harvester, East Moline after 42 years of service; he then gave
11tours of the Harvester Plant and Davenport Works for 18 years;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe bowled for over 50 years; he also
14enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe was preceded in death by his
16parents; his wife, Joyce; his siblings, George Verhaeghe and
17Margaret (Harvey) Wriedt; and his son-in-law, John Versypt; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bob Verhaeghe is survived by his children, Janet
19Versypt, Ronald (Cindy) Verhaeghe, Cathy (Ron) Pershy, Lorrie
20(Ron) Williams, and Robert E. (Denise) Verhaeghe; eleven

1grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three
2great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Robert L. "Bob" Verhaeghe and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Bob Verhaeghe as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
