SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David M. Peters of Peoria, who passed
4away on August 20, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Peters was born in Peoria to George T. and
6Mary (Vegich) Peters on January 25, 1948; he graduated from the
7Spalding Institute; he was drafted in 1969 and served in the
8United States Army at Fort Irwin during the Vietnam War; and
 
9    WHEREAS, David Peters worked for Jim Maloof Realty; he then
10started Dave Peters Realty, which he later renamed as Main
11Street Realty, and retired in 2016; and
 
12    WHEREAS, David Peters was the head of the Peoria County
13Board of Review for 20 years; he was a past president of AMBUCS
14and the West Main Street Association; he was president of the
15Itoo Club; he served as chairman for several organizations,
16including the Democratic Committee in Peoria, the Board of
17Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and the
18International Association of Assessing Officers; he was a
19member of Cursillo, Third degree Spalding Council 427 and the
20St. Philomena Men's Club; he served on many St. Jude
21committees; and

1    WHEREAS, David Peters was preceded in death by his parents
2and his brother, Daniel; and
 
3    WHEREAS, David Peters is survived by his sister, Jo Ann
4(Kevin) Bandle; his brother, William (Mary) Peters; his five
5nephews; and his two nieces; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8David M. Peters and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of David Peters as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
