SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Gail "Bob" Kleinsmith of East
4Moline, who passed away on August 15, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was born in DeWitt, Iowa to Maurice
6and Rose Witt on October 5, 1937; he served as a sergeant in
7the U.S. Army and married Patricia "Pat" Weigandt Hoffman at
8Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline on December 23, 1988; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was a businessman and was involved
10in several enterprises; he was a construction form setter and
11foreman before the age of 20; throughout his life, he was a
12cleaner and laundromat owner, manager of a water company, sign
13painter, home builder and land developer, used truck parts
14dealer, and rental property owner; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was member of the Eldridge Jaycees
16and Ducks Unlimited; he enjoyed dancing with Pat, fishing,
17camping, playing cards, and watching NASCAR; he also enjoyed
18watching the horse and dog races; he was very proud of having
19authored a book, and above all else was his love for his family
20and the Boston Red Sox; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was preceded in death by his

1parents and his brother, John; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith is survived by his wife, Patricia;
3his children, Kimberly (Brent) Gale, Rob Kleinsmith, Karinna
4(Jonathan) Lee, and Ryan (Roxanne) Kleinsmith; his
5stepchildren, Andrea (Kevin) Baker, Kai Greko, Travis Greko,
6and Blair Greko; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren;
7several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; his
8sisters, Joan (Charles) Headley and Millie (Dave) Berhenke; and
9his brother, Maurice Lee (Bern) Kleinsmith; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Robert Gail "Bob" Kleinsmith and extend our sincere condolences
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Bob Kleinsmith as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
