SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Joseph Lucas of Rock Island, who
4passed away on August 9, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Lucas was born in Moline to Willis and
6Mary Lucas on August 1, 1929; he graduated from Rock Island
7High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War;
8he married Rita Arlene Gaudet in Seymour, Connecticut on June
96, 1953; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Lucas worked as a mechanical engineer for
11M. A. Ford Mfg. for over 30 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Lucas was involved in many organizations;
13he associated himself with organizations for the purpose of
14supporting a culture of life, personal liberty, and the common
15good of society; and
 
16    WHEREAS, William Lucas was preceded in death by his wife,
17Rita; his parents; his brother, Robert; his son, David; his
18sister-in-law, Gloria Gaudet; and his brother-in-law, Roger
19Gaudet Sr.; and
 
20    WHEREAS, William Lucas is survived by his sons, Michael,

1Edward (Ann), and Joseph Lucas; seven grandchildren; two
2great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his
3brother-in-law, Norman Gaudet; his special niece and
4goddaughter, Annette Ochoa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and
5additional family; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8William Joseph Lucas and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of William Lucas as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
