SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert L. "Pete" Petersen of Moline, who
4passed away on August 7, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pete Petersen was born in Rock Island to Fred F.
6and Cora L. (DeLoach) Petersen on July 6, 1939; he was a
7veteran of the United States Marine Corps; he married Denise A.
8Grems in Rock Island on October 2, 1960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Pete Petersen worked as a heavy equipment operator
10with Hernstrom Excavating through Union Local 150; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Pete Petersen enjoyed tinkering in his garage,
12working on his Model A, spending time on his swing, taking
13rides on his lawn mower, traveling to Florida, and, most of
14all, spending time with his family and grandchildren; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Pete Petersen was preceded in death by his
16parents; his brother, Fred; and his granddaughter, Jennifer;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Pete Petersen is survived by his wife of 58 years,
19Denise; his children, Robert (Debbie) Petersen Jr., Tim
20Petersen, Cindy (Tracy) Jensen, Tom Petersen, and Amy Petersen;

1his grandchildren, Tyler, Josh, Kinzy, Dustin, Amanda,
2Jonathan, and Katie; his great-grandchildren; and his sisters,
3Nancy (Vern) Cook and Karen York; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Robert L. "Pete" Petersen and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Pete Petersen as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
