SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bobby Joe Taylor of Rock Island, who
4passed away on July 5, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bobby Joe Taylor was born in Centreville, Iowa to
6Lillian F. (Jones) Barnett on January 16, 1958; he was an
7all-star athlete in wrestling and football for Rock Island High
8School, where he graduated in 1976; he enlisted in the U.S.
9Army on April 19, 1977 and served for six years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bobby Joe Taylor loved to cook and worked as a
11cook for several Quad-City restaurants, including Bishop's
12Buffet, the Old Country Buffet, and a local casino; he also
13worked several years for United Cerebral Palsy; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bobby Joe Taylor was preceded in death by his
15mother, Lillian F. (Jones) Barnett; his brother, Robert James
16Taylor Sr.; and his sister, Sandra J. Taylor; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bobby Joe Taylor is survived by his daughter,
18LaTasha Hickman; his grandchildren, Bernard Harris Jr.,
19Juanita Hickman, and Sean Allen Jr.; his siblings, Arnold
20Barnett and Lynette Taylor; his nieces, Lillian Taylor, Rosalyn
21Taylor, and Cyd Gaddis; his nephews, Larrin Taylor and Robert

1James Taylor Jr.; his great-granddaughters, Serenity and
2Alayna Harris; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews,
3cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Bobby Joe Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Bobby Joe Taylor as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
