SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Deputy Troy P. Chisum of Canton, who was
4killed in the line of duty while serving the citizens of Fulton
5County on June 25, 2019; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Deputy Chisum was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Phil
7and Debra (Hebb) Chisum on August 10, 1979; he married Amanda
8Stoddard in Canton on April 17, 1999; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Deputy Chisum was a deputy with the Fulton County
10Sheriff's Office; he also worked as a paramedic with the Fulton
11County Emergency Management Agency and as a firefighter with
12Northern Tazewell County; he previously worked for the
13Lewistown Police Department; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Deputy Chisum was a member of the West Central
15Special Response Team and the ILEAS WMD/SRT team, Region 6; he
16enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, going to the shooting
17range, playing on the alumni football team, and any activities
18with his wife and daughters; he was his daughters' number one
19fan and always inspired them to follow their dreams; he
20dedicated his life to the service of his community; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Deputy Chisum was preceded in death by his

1paternal grandparents and his sister-in-law, Jessica Lasswell;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Deputy Chisum is survived by his wife, Amanda; his
4daughters, Kyleigh (Andy DeLost) Chisum, Abigail Chisum, and
5Gracie Chisum; his father, Phil Chisum; his mother and
6stepfather, Debra (Mike) Wheeler; his father-in-law and
7mother-in-law, Walt (Kathy) Thomas; his sister, Krysta Dilts;
8his stepbrother, Zach Wheeler; his stepsister, Cher (Matt)
9Valdez; his maternal grandparents, Lyle and Betty Hebb; and
10several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Deputy Troy P. Chisum and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Deputy Chisum as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
