SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gary Wayne Ricketts Sr. of Port Byron,
4who passed away on June 16, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. was born in Muscatine to
6Clarence and Violet Gasaway Ricketts on August 8, 1950; he
7attended Muscatine and East Moline schools; he enlisted in the
8United States Army Signal Corps and served as a lineman in
9Vietnam; he married Constance Culbertson in 1974, and they
10later divorced; he married Laurie Graham in 1999; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. retired from AT&T; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts played golf and enjoyed challenges
13and tournaments with his golf buddies; he played in pool
14leagues and tournaments; he took great pride in his Harley; he
15loved his granddaughters and was proud of all of their
16accomplishments; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. was preceded in death by his
18parents; his wife, Laurie; his brother, Everett Eugene
19Ricketts; and his sister, Joyce Marie Goodale; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Gary Ricketts Sr. is survived by his son, Gary

2granddaughters, Alyssa (James) Mudd and Natasha Ricketts; his
3sister, Roberta Callahan; and his brothers, Robert (Theresa)
4Ricketts and Jerry Ricketts; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Gary Wayne Ricketts Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Gary Ricketts Sr. as an expression
12of our deepest sympathy.
