SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Theadore "T" Roden of Colona, who
4passed away on March 11, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Theadore Roden was born in Winfield, Alabama
6to Olen Sr. and Frances Stephenson Roden on November 10, 1929;
7he served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he
8married Beverly Jean Lindley in Colona on September 17, 1955;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, James Theadore Roden retired as an auditor from
11the John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan in 1986; and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Theadore Roden enjoyed fishing, hunting,
13playing golf, and, for the last ten years of his life,
14tinkering in the community wood shop while wintering in
15Arizona; most of all, he loved spending time with his family;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, James Theadore Roden was preceded in death by his
18parents; his daughter, Pam Minor; and four of his brothers; and
 
19    WHEREAS, At time time of his passing, James Theadore Roden
20was survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly; his daughters,

1Cindy (Pat) Burke, Denise (Brian) Keegan, and Jamie (Jim)
2Olson; his grandchildren, Jim and Aaron Burke, Hannah (fiance,
3James DelaRiva) Slater Keegan, and Brooke and Austin Olson; his
4great-granddaughter, Maylyn Gail; his brother, Olen Roden Jr.;
5and his son-in-law, Randy Minor; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8James Theadore "T" Roden and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of James Theadore Roden as an
13expression of our deepest sympathy.
