SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy J. Onderisin, who passed away on
4May 18, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Onderisin was born in Joliet to John and
6Mary (Zoran) Brodeske on May 9, 1921; she graduated from Joliet
7Township High School in 1939; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dorothy Onderisin was employed at U.S. Rubber; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dorothy Onderisin was a member of the Cantigny
10Post 367 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and, for 26 years, the Will
11County Farm Bureau; she was a precinct judge for Lockport
12Township for 28 years and volunteered at the Rialto Square
13Theatre for over 24 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dorothy Onderisin loved to play Bridge and was the
15last surviving member of the Forest Hills Bridge/Canasta Club
16that met monthly for 50 years; she was formidable at Hearts and
17loved playing with her grandchildren; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dorothy Onderisin was preceded in death by her
19husband, John Onderisin; her parents; and her brother, Richard
20Brodeske; and

1    WHEREAS, Dorothy Onderisin is survived by her children,
2Dale (Evelyn) Onderisin, Janet R. (William) Coombe, and Mark W.
3Onderisin; her grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Coombe-Roberts and
4Devon Coombe, Maureen (Tim) Cole, Mark R., and Paul and Heather
5Onderisin; her great-grandchildren, Brian and Megan Cole and
6Owen Coombe-Roberts; her brothers, James (Barbara) Brodeske;
7her sister-in-law, Barb Brodeske; and her daughter-in-law,
8Marcia Onderisin; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Dorothy J. Onderisin and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dorothy Onderisin as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
