SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Annette F. "Nettie" Galla of
4Libertyville, who passed away on April 29, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nettie Galla was born in Chicago to Joseph and
6Josephine Panek on April 20, 1936; she married Richard Galla
7and moved to Lindenhurst; they later moved to Grayslake, where
8they raised their family; after their children were grown, they
9moved to Libertyville; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Nettie Galla had a strong faith; she attended Mass
11daily at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville; in
12addition, she also attended Saturday Mass at St. Gilbert
13Catholic Church in Grayslake; she was committed to helping
14those less fortunate and in need; and
 
15    WHEREAS, In her earlier years, Nettie Galla enjoyed oil
16painting and drawing; in her later years, she enrolled in art
17classes at the College of Lake County; she looked forward to
18her classes and attended student art class trips to Door
19County, Wisconsin; through her teacher's encouragement,
20guidance, and support, she was able to accomplish her goal of
21creating works in watercolor; she was a devoted wife, mother,
22grandmother and great-grandmother; she enjoyed cooking for her

1family and friends and was always looking for new recipes; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Nettie Galla was preceded in death by her husband
3of 57 years, Richard; her sisters-in-law, Mary Panek, Teresa
4Panek, and Margarite Galla; and her brothers, Joseph and Ronald
5Panek; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Nettie Galla is survived by her children, Richard
7G. (Kristen), Rachel (Skee), Connie (Tony), and David
8(Roberta); her grandchildren, Jessica, Joey (Kelly), Jillian,
9and Henry; her great-grandchildren, Alexa, Grace, Isabelle,
10Josephine, Olivia, Jaxen, Carter, and Mason; her
11brother-in-law, Gerald; her best friend, Gloria; and her many
12other friends and relatives; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Annette F. "Nettie" Galla and extend our sincere condolences to
16her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Nettie Galla as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
