SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald K. Ernat of Rock Island, who
4passed away on April 15, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat was born in Peru to Roman and Pearl
6Jaraczewski Ernat on March 14, 1934; he graduated from St.
7Ambrose Academy in 1952; he served in the U.S. Army from 1956
8to 1958 and married Shirley J. Slayden in Rock Island on
9November 9, 1957; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat joined Bricklayers Local #7 in Rock
11Island in 1955; after his service, he resumed bricklaying until
121965; he then became a construction superintendent for a local
13contractor, retiring in 1988; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Ronald Ernat resided in
15Unionville, Missouri for 20 years; he was a talented handyman
16and built both of his homes; his favorite times were those
17spent with family and friends visiting in Unionville; he
18enjoyed fishing, especially with his sons and friends at Lake
19Erie; he adored his grandchildren; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat was preceded in death by his wife,
21Shirley; his parents; his daughters, Susan Watt and Laura Lee

1Ernat; his brothers, Raymond and James "Jake" Ernat; and his
2sisters, Agnes Soldati and Bernice Dhaemers Filas; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat is survived by his children, Mark
4(Pam) Ernat, Curtis (Debbie) Ernat, and Paula Ernat; his
5son-in-law, Doug Watt; his grandchildren, Dillon and Molly
6Watt; his step-granddaughter, Kathryn (Eric) Strause-Reyes;
7his step-great-grandchildren, Kierra, Noah, and Eva; his
8brothers, Harry (Sandy) and Art (Mary) Ernat; and numerous
9nieces, nephews, and other family; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Ronald K. Ernat and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ronald Ernat as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
