SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roger True Logan of Moline, who passed
4away on March 26, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Logan was born in Overton, Nebraska to John
6and Beatrice Casey Logan on January 21, 1927; he served in the
7United States Army during the Occupation of Japan and was
8discharged in 1946; he earned his bachelor of science degree
9from the University of Nebraska; he married Myrt Stubblefield
10in June of 1949; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Roger Logan worked for the Department of the Army
12in many capacities; he retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in
131986; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Roger Logan was a lifetime member of the
15University of Nebraska Alumni Association and an avid
16Cornhusker fan; he was a member of Lodge 57 A.F.& A.M., the
17KAABA Shriners, and the Blackhawk Shrine Club and was a 32nd
18degree Mason of the Valley; he was a life member of N.A.R.F.E,
19a member of American Legion Post 246, and a member of the First
20Congregational Church, Moline; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Roger Logan was preceded in death by his parents

1and his sister, Ester; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Roger Logan is survived by his wife, Myrt; his
3son, David (Teri) Logan; his daughter, Sharon Snow; his
4granddaughter, DeAna Fountain; his grandson, Jeremy (Carissa)
5Fountain; his great-grandchildren, Devin, Dazia, Mackenzie,
6Trenton, and Isaiah; his great-great-granddaughter, Amiah
7Allen; his sisters-in-law, Helen Brannon, Jessie O'Neil, and
8Betty Stubblefield; and his many nieces, nephews, other
9extended family members, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Roger True Logan and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Roger Logan as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
