SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Milton "Moose" Johnson of Moline, who
4passed away on March 2, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Milton Johnson was born in Moline to Elmer and
6Anna Rose Smarsty Johnson on August 24, 1931; he graduated from
7Moline High School, where he played on the football team that
8went undefeated in the 1950s; he served in the United States
9Navy during the Korean Conflict; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Milton Johnson worked for Iowa-Illinois Gas &
11Electric Company for many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Milton Johnson was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran
13Church in Moline and the Moline Boosters Club; he enjoyed
14attending all Moline sporting events and Moline M Men's
15football; he also enjoyed going to the casino and having
16morning coffee at Hy-Vee with friends; in earlier years, he
17enjoyed Big Band Ballroom Dancing; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Milton Johnson was preceded in death by his
19parents; his brothers, Don and Ted; his sister, Jackie; and his
20special niece, Nancy Gardner; and

1    WHEREAS, Milton Johnson is survived by his many nieces,
2nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and
3great-great-nephews; his Moline M Men buddies; and his special
4friends, Leonard, Marty, and Danny; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Milton "Moose" Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Milton Johnson as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
