SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth E. "Ken" Kessinger of East
4Moline, who passed away on January 28, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger was born in East Alton to Kenneth A.
6and Lovell (Morey) Kessinger on August 5, 1933; he served in
7the United States Navy for four years, where he was also a
8Golden Glove Boxer; he married Annabelle Abernathy in East
9Alton on August 15, 1958; and
 
10    WHEREAS, In 1995, Ken Kessinger retired from
11McDonald-Douglas in St. Louis, now Boeing, after 21 years of
12service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger was a member of First Southern
14Baptist Church; he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger was preceded in death by his
16parents; his wife, Annabelle; his sister, Virginia Simms; his
17special friend, Bev Robinson; and his sister-in-law, Alberta
18Weidel; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger is survived by his children, Ricky
20(Susan) Kessinger, Brian (Bobbie Henkels) Kessinger, and Tim

1(Jane Asher) Kessinger; his grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer),
2Adam, Nathan (Sarah), Becky (John), Jeremy (Sara), and Kyle
3Kessinger, Lindsay Henkels, and James and Trisha Kessinger; his
4great-grandchildren, Ivy, Lauren, Aubrey, Nathan, Nickolas,
5Kamden, Kasen, Kennedy, and Griffin; his brother, Bob (Ruby)
6Kessinger; his brother-in-law, Jim Simms; and his nephew, Mike
7(Billy) Propset; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Kenneth E. "Ken" Kessinger and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Ken Kessinger as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
