SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald N. Tures of Manhattan, who passed
4away on December 29, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Tures graduated from Joliet Catholic High
6School in 1950 and from Lewis University; he was a Sergeant
7with the United States Army Artillery Division during the
8Korean Conflict; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Tures was the owner of Tures Nursery in
10Peotone for many years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Donald Tures was a member of Peotone American
12Legion Post 392, Manhattan American Legion Post 935 Honor
13Guard, and VFW Post 9545; he was also a member of the Will
14County Farm Bureau; he was a devout member of St. Joseph
15Catholic Church in Manhattan, where he attended mass daily and
16was a member of the Men's Club; he was a husband, father, and
17grandfather who will be missed; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Donald Tures was preceded in death by his parents,
19Nicholas and Margaret (Allare) Tures; his sister, Geraldine
20(Richard) Gollick; his parents-in-law, Joseph and Angela
21Chmielewski; his brother-in-law, Albert Naal Jr; and his

1sister-in-law, Judy Chmielewski; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Donald Tures is survived by his wife of 61 years,
3Phyllis (Chmielewski) Tures; his children, Stephen (Julia)
4Tures, Joseph (Christine) Tures, Robert (Patricia) Tures,
5Matthew (Monica) Tures, and Dana (Jeffrey) Brandau; his
6grandchildren, Shelby, Catherine, Stephen, Nicholas, Lauren,
7and Madeline; his sister, Frances Naal; his brother-in-law,
8Robert Chmielewski; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be
9it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Donald N. Tures and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Donald Tures as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
