Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that the month of November of each year is designated as Native American Heritage Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to recognize the contributions and influence of Native Americans on American history, achievement, culture, and innovation. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 9 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/9 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 9. Native American Heritage Month. The month of |
| 8 | | November of each year is designated as Native American Heritage |
| 9 | | Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to |
| 10 | | recognize the contributions and influence of Native Americans |
| 11 | | on American history, achievement, culture, and innovation.
