AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 481

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 481 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and
5Museum Act is amended by changing Section 15 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 3475/15)
7    Sec. 15. Board. There shall be a Board of Trustees of the
8Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum to set policy
9and advise the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
10and the Executive Director on programs related to the Abraham
11Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and to exercise the
12powers and duties given to it under Section 25 of this Act. If
13the Chief Executive Officer of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential
14Library Foundation is appointed by the Governor with advice and
15consent of the Senate, then the The Abraham Lincoln
16Presidential Library and Museum and the Abraham Lincoln

1Presidential Library Foundation shall mutually co-operate to
2maximize resources available to the Abraham Lincoln
3Presidential Library and Museum and to support, sustain, and
4provide educational programs and collections at the Abraham
5Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Any membership fees
6collected by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library
7Foundation may be used to support the Abraham Lincoln
8Presidential Library and Museum programs or collections at the
9Foundation's discretion. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential
10Library Foundation Board shall select and submit to the
11Governor's Office potential applicants for the office of Chief
12Executive Officer of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library
13Foundation. Within 30 days after receiving the potential
14applicants, the Governor shall appoint a Chief Executive
15Officer of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation
16with advice and consent of the Senate. A Chief Executive
17Officer shall serve a term of 4 years.

19    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
