1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Career and Workforce Transition Act is
5amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 151/10)
7    Sec. 10. Transfer of credits.
8    (a) A public community college district shall accept up to
930 credit hours transferred from an institution that has been
10approved under Section 15 of this Act if a student has
11completed one of the following programs at that institution:
12        (1) Medical Assisting.
13        (2) Medical Coding.
14        (3) Dental Assisting.
15        (4) HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
16        (5) Welding.
17        (6) Pharmacy Technician.
18        (7) General Carpentry.
19        (8) Interior Systems Carpentry.
20        (9) Drywall.
21        (10) Floor Covering.
22        (11) Mill-cabinetry.
23        (12) Millwright.

1        (13) Insulation/Spray Foam.
2        (14) Siding Installation.
3        (15) Roofing.
4        (16) Lathing.
5        (17) Pile Driving.
6        (18) Concrete Forming.

8        (20) Residential Electrical Construction.
9        (21) Commercial Electrical Construction.
10        (22) Industrial Electrical Construction.
11        (23) Renewable Energy Technology.
12        (24) Energy Efficiency Concepts.
13        (25) Electrical Manufacturing Sector.
14        (26) Communications Systems.

25The program must, at a minimum, be a 9-month program and use a
26credit-hour system.

1    (b) The public community college district may accept the
2credits as direct equivalent credits or prior learning credits,
3as determined by the district and consistent with the
4accrediting standards and institutional and residency
5requirements of the Board, the Higher Learning Commission,
6other State and national accreditors, and State licensing
7bodies, as appropriate.
8    (c) Any designation given by the Board of credit hour value
9for items (1) through (6) under subsection (a) shall be applied
10by the community college district as direct or elective credit
11toward an associate degree of applied science or its equivalent
12as determined by the community college district.

14    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15becoming law.
