    Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that no person shall drive or move any motor vehicle or equipment upon any highway with any lighting or combination of lighting with a smoked or tinted lens or cover.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing
5Section 12-212 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/12-212)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12-212)
7    Sec. 12-212. Special restrictions on lamps. (a) No person
8shall drive or move any vehicle or equipment upon any highway
9with any lamp or device on the vehicle or equipment displaying
10a red light visible from directly in front of the vehicle or
11equipment except as otherwise provided in this Act.
12    (b) Subject to the restrictions of this Act, flashing
13lights are prohibited on motor vehicles except as a means for
14indicating a right or left turn as provided in Section 12-208
15or the presence of a vehicular traffic hazard requiring unusual
16care as expressly provided in Sections 11-804 or 12-215.
17    (c) Unless otherwise expressly authorized by this Code, all
18other lighting or combination of lighting on any vehicle shall
19be prohibited.
20    (d) No person shall drive or move any motor vehicle or
21equipment upon any highway with any lighting or combination of
22lighting with a smoked or tinted lens or cover.
