HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, School principals play an integral role in the
3education and growth of children in elementary, middle, and
4secondary schools across the State of Illinois; and
 
5    WHEREAS, School principals are responsible for promoting
6education and building relationships with parents and teachers
7to ensure that each and every child receives services that meet
8their needs in order to excel in the classroom; and
 
9    WHEREAS, It is the primary responsibility of the State of
10Illinois to preserve and improve resources for schools so that
11all students have access to a quality education and foundation
12for a successful future; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Illinois Principals Association, which
14represents over 5,800 educational leaders statewide, believes
15that learning is a lifelong process and that the education of
16our children is the highest priority; and
 
17    WHEREAS, For that reason, the Illinois Principals
18Association is dedicated to developing, supporting, and
19advocating for innovative school leaders; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Educational leaders face many challenges in

1supporting and educating our young people, and it is through
2their perseverance and passion that Illinois continues to
3produce quality, career-ready students; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we declare the week of October 18-24, 2020 as Principals Week
7and Friday, October 23, 2020 as Principals Day in Illinois, to
8recognize principals and the Illinois Principals Association
9for all that they do to help our children learn and succeed;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That we urge citizens to continue to support and
12recognize those who have a positive impact on Illinois students
13and the educational system in the Land of Lincoln; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the Illinois State Board of Education and the
17Illinois Principals Association.
