HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Kristine M. Condon,
4Ed.D., on the occasion of her retirement after 30 years of
5service to the Supreme Court of Illinois and the Illinois
6community college system, including 22 years as Professor and
7Program Coordinator of Kankakee Community College's
8Paralegal/Legal Assistant Studies Program; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dr. Condon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social
10Science, magna cum laude, from Illinois Wesleyan University;
11she earned her Master of Education in Adult and Corporate
12Instructional Management from Loyola University of Chicago;
13she earned her Doctor of Education in Community College
14Leadership from National Louis University in 2014; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Prior to her role as professor and program
16coordinator, Dr. Condon's first role at KCC was as a computer
17instructor in 1998; she became a KCC assistant professor in
182000 and then advanced to the position of KCC professor in
192001; she became a KCC professor and program coordinator in
202002; and
 
21    WHEREAS, During her tenure, she was instrumental in the
22growth and success of KCC's Paralegal/Legal Assistant Studies

1program; her efforts include the program gaining American Bar
2Association approval, the LEX Alumni Chapter's Alumni
3Mentoring Network earning an Honorable Mention in Student
4Retention Practices from the National Council of Instructional
5Administrators, six students becoming national winners of the
6American Association for Paralegal Education LEX National
7Scholarship, and its 2019 Law Week programming finishing second
8in the nation; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dr. Condon's expertise is regularly sought, and
10she has been a guest presenter at many regional conferences;
11she has been the recipient of a number of honors and awards,
12including the 2018 ACT Postsecondary Champion Award, the 2017
13Will County Bar Association's Nonlawyer Service to the
14Community Award, and the 2014 Kankakee Community College
15President's Leadership Award; she has also authored several
16intellectual property copyrights and publications; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Condon is involved in a number of professional
18and community-based associations, including the Illinois
19Justice Corps Committee of the Illinois Supreme Court
20Commission on Access to Justice; she developed the Illinois
21Civics Academy for Teachers, a civics education professional
22development program for high school faculty; therefore, be it

1HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2we congratulate Kristine M. Condon, Ed.D., on the occasion of
3her retirement after 30 years of service to the Supreme Court
4of Illinois and the Illinois community college system,
5including 22 years as Professor and Program Coordinator of
6Kankakee Community College's Paralegal/Legal Assistant Studies
7Program; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Dr. Condon as an expression of our respect and
10esteem.
