HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carole
4Diana Tannehill of Mesa, Arizona, who passed away on December
57, 2019; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Carole Tannehill was born in Springfield to Leland
7B. and Mardella M. Brownfield King on June 29, 1944; she
8graduated from Springfield High School in 1962 and became a
9licensed practical nurse; she married Jerome "Jerry" Tannehill
10in Springfield on May 6, 1972; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Carole Tannehill worked for several years as a
12nurse for Memorial Medical Center and St. John's Hospice; she
13also served as an executive secretary for Governor Jim Edgar
14and as a legislative assistant for the Illinois Senate; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Carole Tannehill was a member of the West Side
16Christian Church, where she participated in the choir and
17handbell choir; she was a member of the Christian Women's
18Connection and the Red Hats Society; she enjoyed quilting,
19sewing and crafting, and playing darts and cards at the
20clubhouse in Arizona; most of all, she loved spending time with
21her family; and

1    WHEREAS, Carole Tannehill was preceded in death by her
2parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Carole Tannehill is survived by her husband,
4Jerry; her children, Tamie (Michael) Pohlman, Missy (Joseph)
5Hutchins, Joedy (Lori) Wake, Kelly (Rod) Kofoid, and Kristy
6(John) Chapman; her grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob Pohlman,
7Jenna Pohlman, Elyse and Kiersten Hutchins, Caitlin (Dustin)
8Davis, Meghan (Stephen Conklin) Wake, Kasey (Trevor) Frankel,
9Austin and Tyler Kofoid, Bridget (Kalvin) Karr, and Mitchell
10Chapman; and six great-grandchildren, with one on the way;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we mourn the passing of Carole Diana Tannehill and extend our
15sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
16and loved her; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Carole Tannehill as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
