HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to commend Albert P. Carey on his
4corporate leadership and community service to the State of
5Illinois and congratulate him on his retirement from PepsiCo
6after 35 years of service; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Serving with distinction the past four decades,
8Albert Carey has held a series of crucial leadership positions,
9including CEO of Frito-Lay North America in Texas, CEO of
10Pepsi-Cola North American Beverages in New York, and
11ultimately, as CEO of the entire PepsiCo North American
12business, including Quaker Oats in Chicago; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Albert Carey is known for his skill,
14entrepreneurial vision, and executional excellence, which have
15demonstrated his commitment to the millions of Quaker Oats
16consumers throughout the United States; and
 
17    WHEREAS, An extraordinary individual, Albert Carey has
18embodied the values of teamwork and respect, showing high
19regard for consumers, associations throughout the work force,
20and the communities in which the company operates; he has
21always committed to the highest standards of excellence and has
22acted with integrity; and

1    WHEREAS, Albert Carey has made a valuable contribution to
2society as a champion of diversity and engagement, often
3leading PepsiCo's engagement with leading Latino
4organizations, including the US Hispanic Leadership Institute,
5UnidosUS, and the National Association of Latino Elected and
6Appointed Officials (NALEO); and
 
7    WHEREAS, Albert Carey has practiced servant leadership
8throughout his career, removing obstacles and creating new
9opportunities for others, helping to establish PepsiCo's Ring
10of Honor, which recognizes the work of front-line sales
11associations, and serving as a mentor to countless PepsiCo
12employees; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Albert Carey's endeavors, individually and as a
14leader in PepsiCo, have helped to enhance neighborhoods
15throughout the United States, including PepsiCo's partnership
16with City Colleges of Chicago to provide scholarships and
17training for Chicago residents to enter career paths with
18PepsiCo; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
20HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21we congratulate Albert P. Carey on his retirement from PepsiCo,
22commend his meritorious record of leadership, service, and

2continued happiness and success; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
