HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General
3Assembly pays honor and respect to veterans who have served
4their country and the State of Illinois; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Eight brothers from the Galetti family are
6veterans from the State of Illinois; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The late Michael Galetti and the late Joseph
8Galetti served in the United States Air Force from 1942 until
91946; the late John Galetti served in the United States Army
10from 1941 until 1944; Lawrence Galetti, who resides in
11Seatonville, served in the United States Navy from 1944 until
121946; George Galetti, who also lives in Seatonville, served in
13the United States Air Force from 1948 until 1952; James
14Galetti, who lives in the Veterans' Home in
15LaSalle-Seatonville, served in the United States Army from 1958
16until 1960; Jess Galetti, who lives in Ladd, served in the
17United States Marines from 1953 until 1955; Dennis Galetti, who
18lives in Seatonville, served in the United States Army in
19Vietnam from 1967 until 1969; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
21HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
22SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the portion of

1Illinois Route 6 starting at the eastern village limits of
2Hollowayville to Ladd Junction, Illinois Route 6 and Illinois
3Route 89, going through Seatonville as the "Galetti Brothers
4Memorial Highway"; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
6is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with
7State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs
8giving notice of the name of the "Galetti Brothers Memorial
9Highway"; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
11presented to the families of the Galetti brothers and the
12Secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation.
