Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code. Provides that no adult person who is diagnosed as a person with an intellectual disability or a person with a developmental disability may be discharged from a hospital, or similar facility, and transferred to a mental health facility, or any portion thereof, without first notifying a parent or guardian of that individual.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental |
| 5 | | Disabilities Code is amended by adding Section 3-200.5 as |
| 6 | | follows:

| 8 | | Sec. 3-200.5. Notice of adult involuntary transfer. No |
| 9 | | adult person who is diagnosed as a person with an intellectual |
| 10 | | disability or a person with a developmental disability may be |
| 11 | | discharged from a hospital, or similar facility, and |
| 12 | | transferred to a mental health facility, or any portion |
| 13 | | thereof, without first notifying a parent or guardian of that |
