Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Requires a group or individual policy of accident and health insurance to provide coverage for cardiopulmonary monitors for a person 18 years old or younger who has had a cardiopulmonary event. Effective January 1, 2020.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 356z.33 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (215 ILCS 5/356z.33 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 356z.33. Coverage for cardiopulmonary monitors. A |
| 8 | | group or individual policy of accident and health insurance |
| 9 | | amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective date |
| 10 | | of this amendatory Act of the 101st General Assembly shall |
| 11 | | provide coverage for cardiopulmonary monitors for a person 18 |
| 12 | | years old or younger who has had a cardiopulmonary event.

| 13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January |
| 14 | | 1, 2020.
