AN ACT concerning regulation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding
Section 356z.33 as follows:
(215 ILCS 5/356z.33 new)
Skin cancer screenings.
An individual or
group policy of accident and health insurance shall cover one
annual medically necessary screening for skin cancer that is
not otherwise provided as part of a routine dermatology
examination. A policy subject to this Section shall not impose
a deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other
cost-sharing requirement on the coverage provided. The
provisions of this Section do not apply to the extent such
coverage would disqualify a high-deductible health plan from
eligibility for a health savings account pursuant to 26 U.S.C.
This Act takes effect January
