SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 375/18 new

    Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971. Provides that on and after July 1, 2019, the program of health benefits provided under the Act shall no longer apply to members, and dependents of such members, who are: (1) executive branch constitutional officers; (2) members of the General Assembly; and (3) members of the judiciary receiving benefits under the Act. Effective July 1, 2019.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971
5is amended by adding Section 18 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 375/18 new)
7    Sec. 18. State health benefits exchange. Notwithstanding
8any other provision of law to the contrary, on and after July
91, 2019, the provisions of this Act concerning a program of
10health benefits shall no longer apply to members, and
11dependents of such members, who are: (1) executive branch
12constitutional officers; (2) members of the General Assembly;
13and (3) members of the judiciary receiving benefits under this
14Act.
 
15    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
162019.
