SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Yvette Ann "Cookie" Littleton Jarvis; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Yvette Jarvis was born in Detroit, Michigan to
5Julious and Mary Littleton on January 19, 1949; she attended
6Cass Technical High School in Detroit until the 11th grade when
7her family moved to Evanston; she graduated from Evanston
8Township High School at the age of 16; she attended two years
9of college and earned several certifications for accounting;
10she married Samuel Jackson and had four children, Charmane
11Lorraine, Kisha Mary, Josephine LaTanya, and Alan Lloyd III;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Yvette Jarvis moved to Houston and worked with
14several oil companies, including Chevron and Shell; she married
15Paul Jarvis and helped raise Paul Jr. "Midget", Charice, and
16Keisha; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Yvette Jarvis moved to Atlanta and worked as an
18accountant for Network Communications, Incorporated for 25
19years; she worked as an accountant for the Hard Rock restaurant
20and was a tax preparer as well; she was a member of the Peace
21Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia; and

1    WHEREAS, Yvette Jarvis loved to cook and often invited her
2friends and family over to dinner; she often fed the homeless;
3she was always thinking of how she could improve her life and
4enjoyed taking care of her family and helping all of her
5friends; she had excellent computer skills and created numerous
6family calenders to share with everybody; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Yvette Jarvis was preceded in death by her
8parents; her husband, Paul; and her sister, Jaunice; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Yvette Jarvis is survived by her daughters,
10Charmane (the late Terrance Sr.), Kisha (Terrence), and
11Josephine (Alan Sr.); her son, Alan; her grandchildren,
12LaTanya, Terrance Jr., Aleigha, Alan Jr., Princess Isis, and
13Lovely; her great-grandchildren, Aker, Harmony, Jamir, and
14Alani; her siblings, Ronald (Erdell), Denise (William), Angela
15(Johnny Sr.), Lillian (Larry Sr.), Baron Sr., Susan (Kevin),
16and Lisa (Timothy); and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces,
17nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Yvette Ann "Cookie" Littleton Jarvis, and extend our sincere
21condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
22her; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Yvette Jarvis as an expression of
3our deepest sympathy.
