SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Guadalupe "Lupe" Marta Lopez Ferreira,
4who passed away on June 20, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lupe Ferreira was born to Ramon and Julia Moreno
6Lopez on April 13, 1929; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Lupe Ferreira was an executive secretary and
8administrator at Joliet Junior College for 31 years and took
9pride in mentoring many students; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lupe Ferreira was a member of several social
11organizations, including the Business Professional Women's
12Club; she gave selflessly of her time and volunteered for many
13organizations, including the Daybreak Shelter and at Silver
14Cross Hospital, St Joseph Hospital, and the Will County Health
15Center as a Spanish-speaking translator and greeter; she was a
16loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and
17sister; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Lupe Ferreira was preceded in death by her
19husband, Ben Ferreira Sr.; her parents; her brothers, Henry,
20Jesse, George, and Antonio Lopez; and her sisters, Socorro and
21Catalina Lopez; and

1    WHEREAS, Lupe Ferreira is survived by her sons, Ben
2Ferreira Jr. and Stewart Ferreira; her daughter, Denise (Dave
3Ryan) Ferreira; her grandson, Jason (Xochitl) Ferreira; her
4twin great-granddaughters, Ayari and Quetzalli; her sister,
5Aurora (Mona) Gallegos; her brothers, Charles, Ernest, Paul,
6David, and Ray; and her many nieces, nephews, and in-laws;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Guadalupe "Lupe" Marta Lopez Ferreira and extend our sincere
11condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12her; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Lupe Ferreira as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
