SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence Philipp Jr., who passed away on
4April 12, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Philipp Jr. was born in Wausau, Wisconsin
6to Lawrence and Ruth (Gunther) Philipp Sr. on March 31, 1926;
7he married Jean Herberger on September 28, 1952; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Lawrence Philipp Jr. was employed by Johnson
9Outboard Motors for over 30 years; he also worked as a courier
10for The Bank of Waukegan for 20 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lawrence Philipp Jr. was in a band called the
12"Kitchen Klangers," where he played the spoons; he was known as
13"Happy Feet" because he loved to dance; he was an avid fan of
14the Green Bay Packers; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Lawrence Philipp Jr. was preceded in death by his
16parents; his wife, Jean; his brothers, William "Bill" Philipp
17and Donald "Don" Philipp; and his sisters, Gloria Mathis, Ruth
18Ann Bratzke, and Diana Hansen; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lawrence Philipp Jr. is survived by his children,
20Dirk (Michelle) Philipp, Julie (George) Carpenter, and Marcie

1(Greg Bonczkowski) Dixon; his grandchildren, Christopher
2Philipp, Mark (Tracy) Philipp, Joey (Katie) Philipp, Amber
3(Mike) Devora, Kelly (Patrick) Howell, Colleen (Josh) Moore,
4Katie (Armando) Martinez, Amy Bonczkowski, and Kimberly
5Bonczkowski; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Natalie,
6Riley, Ryan, Gage, and Paxton; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Lawrence Philipp Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Lawrence Philipp Jr. as an
14expression of our deepest sympathy.
