SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John L. Wilson of Caseyville, formerly of
4Washington Park, who passed away on April 11, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Wilson was born in East St. Louis to John L.
6and Orianna (Colona) Wilson on March 15, 1948; and
 
7    WHEREAS, John Wilson was a veteran of the United States
8Army; he retired form Pennsylvania Railroad/Rose Lake Yards as
9a railroad car repairman; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Wilson was a former President of Carmans
11Local 2037, Transport Workers Union of America; he was an
12active citizen of St. Clair County, where he was a former
13member and President of the Hollywood Heights Fire Protection
14District, the Democratic Precinct Committeeman of Precinct #1,
15the Sergeant at Arms for the St. Clair County Democratic Party,
16the former Police Commissioner, the Chairman of the Zoning and
17Planning Commission, and the Vice President of the Police
18Pension Board; he was a member of the St. Clair Masonic Lodge
19#24, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern IL, Ainad Temple,
20a member of the O'Fallon Sportsmen's Club, a member of the
21American Legion Post 53, and a Caseyville Township Trustee; and

1    WHEREAS, John Wilson was preceded in death by his parents;
2his son, Kevin John Wilson; his sisters, Janice Penn and
3Kathleen Waligorski; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Waligorski
4and Walter Miller; and his beloved dog, Odie Boy; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Wilson is survived by his daughter, Kristin
6L. (G.W.) Scott Jr.; his grandchildren, Brianna, Brooke,
7Braelynn, and Kevin Scott; his former wife, Sheila (Dalton)
8Berry; his sister, Dolores "Dee Dee" Miller; his nieces and
9nephews, Andy Penn, Tracy Jenkins, Dan Penn, Skip Miller, and
10Kristopher Waligorski; his aunt, Shirley Feegle; his cousins,
11Pete Hoffman, Jim Lemansky, Tom Werciak, Erich Feegle, Sheryl
12Rhodes, Kurt Feegle, Ron Franklin, and Jim Coppotelli; and his
13great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends;
14therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17John L. Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of John Wilson as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
