SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Arlene "Susie" R. Wiersma of Harvard, who
4passed away on February 28, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Arlene Wiersma was born in Morocco, Indiana to
6Lester and Vera (Standish) Waling on January 10, 1933; she
7married Wilbur T. Wiersma in Alden on December 30, 1950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Arlene Wiersma was the owner of Alden Wood n
9Needle; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Arlene Wiersma was a member of the Alden United
11Methodist Church, the Alden Community Club, and the Alden
12United Methodist Women; she enjoyed her time being a crafter
13and seamstress; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Arlene Wiersma was preceded in death by her
15parents; her husband, Wilbur; her sisters, Elizabeth Ihrke and
16Violet June Myers; and her brothers, John Waling, Morris
17Waling, and Lester "Tom" Waling Jr.; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Arlene Wiersma is survived by her sister, Marilyn
19Blank, and her sister-in-law, Martha Schmidt; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Arlene "Susie" R. Wiersma and extend our sincere condolences to
4her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Arlene Wiersma as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
