SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Janet E. Adams, who passed away on
4February 13, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janet Adams was born in Woodstock to John and
6Frances (Kiltz) Emery on March 12, 1940; she graduated from
7Woodstock High School in 1958; she then graduated from the
8Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota in
91961; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Janet Adams worked as an office nurse for Dr.
11Stahlecker from 1962 until 1964; she then worked as a nurse at
12Woodstock Memorial Hospital (now Centegra) until 2007; she also
13worked as a part-time nurse at Northern Illinois Medical Center
14(McHenry); and
 
15    WHEREAS, Janet Adams enjoyed reading and scuba diving; she
16was a world traveler and belonged to the McHenry Garden Club;
17she was an avid seamstress and made doll clothes and wedding
18dresses; she made 300 dresses for Dress a Girl Around the
19World; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Janet Adams was preceded in death by her parents;
21her husband, William Adams; her son, Lawrence Heckathorne; her

1brother, Robert Emery; and her infant sister, Marilyn Kay
2Emery; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Janet Adams is survived by her children, Eugene
4(Dorothy) Heckathorne, Marilyn (John) Hill, Cindy (Kevin)
5Borman, Chris (Rusty) Hatfield, Kim Adams, Penny (Jeff) Lilly,
6and Terry (Olandis) Harris; her grandchildren, Rachael (Amy)
7Sobotka, Lewis (Samantha) Possehl, Renee (Jason) Busse, Jaron
8Hill, and Emery Hill; and her sister, Donna (Earl) Hass;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Janet E. Adams and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Janet Adams as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
