SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Herbert Klindt Paulsen, formerly of the
4Quad Cities, who passed away on November 19, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Herb Paulsen was born in Waterloo, Iowa to
6Kristian and Mettle Kirsten Paulsen on January 24, 1931; he was
7the youngest of seven children and the only boy; he married
8Virgene Erbe in Waterloo, Iowa on August 22, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Herb Paulsen worked for John Deere until he was
10drafted by the United States Army; after serving in the Korean
11War, he returned to Deere & Company, where he retired after 37
12years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Herb Paulsen was proud to be a veteran; one of his
14favorite memories was joining an Honor Flight to Washington,
15D.C.; he was involved in the Lions Club in Iowa and Illinois;
16he enjoyed yard work; he especially loved his grandchildren and
17rarely missed a sporting event or performance; he and his wife
18were involved with their church and bible study groups; he will
19be missed by many; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Herb Paulsen was preceded in death by his wife,
21Virgene; his parents; and his sisters; and

1    WHEREAS, Herb Paulsen is survived by his daughters, Kathryn
2Potts and Rhonda Paulsen; his son, David Paulsen; his
3grandchildren, Jessica (Scott) Williamsen, Justin Potts, Molly
4Ren, and Jack Ren; and his great-grandchildren, Alexis and
5Addison Potts and Charles Boone Ren; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Herbert Klindt Paulsen and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Herb Paulsen as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
