SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth A. "Ken" Link of Godfrey, who
4passed away on December 17, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ken Link was born in Belleville to George and
6Grace (Winning) Link on August 18, 1946; he married Glenda Mary
7on September 24, 1964; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ken Link retired from Boeing (McDonnell Aircraft)
9in January of 1999 after 32 years of service; he joined his
10wife working at their business, Picture This and More, in Alton
11for 23 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ken Link held several offices in the Professional
13Picture Framers Association (PPFA), St. Louis Chapter and was
14President of the International PPFA for two years; he was a
15talented musician and drummer for DD REVIVAL, Bud Schulz's
16Can't Beat Experience Jazz Band, and the Lorain County
17Community College Jazz Band; he shared that interest with his
18son and grandson; he spent many summer vacations volunteering
19as percussion instructor with the Alton High School Marching
20100; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Ken Link enjoyed golfing and volunteered at the

1Rolling Hills Golf Club during the summers; he enjoyed
2traveling, especially to England and France; he was a lifelong
3learner and loved computers and anything technical; he
4developed websites for several businesses and organizations;
5his latest interest was photography; he loved his family,
6missing very few birthdays, dance recitals, and sporting
7events; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ken Link is survived by his wife of 53 years,
9Glenda; his children, Karen Walter (Keith), Denise Pritchard,
10and Christopher Link (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Katelyn
11Meyer (Andrew), Kelsie Walter, Carley Link U.S. Navy, Caleb
12Link, and Josephine Link; and his great-grandchildren, Audrey
13and Vincent Meyer; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Kenneth A. "Ken" Link, and extend our sincere condolences to
17his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Ken Link as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
