SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jon R. Lowrance of Assumption, who passed
4away on September 3, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance was born in Pana to Orlando G. and
6Alice N. (McCloy) Lowrance on April 30, 1949; he graduated from
7Assumption High School in 1967 and served in the United States
8Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance retired from Caterpillar, Inc.,
10where he worked for 31 years; he also retired as chief of
11police for the City of Assumption, serving in law enforcement
12for over 45 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance was a member of Owaneco United
14Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, American
15Legion Post 284, and Bromwell Lodge #451 A.F. & A.M., where he
16served as Grand Master; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance was preceded in death by his parents;
18his brother, "Duffy" Lowrance; and his sister, Lisa Hartnell;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance is survived by his daughters, Tricia

1(Cheri) Lowrance and Traci (Todd) Ater; his grandchildren, Drew
2Longbrake and Justice and Jadon Ater; his brother, Jerry
3Lowrance; his sisters, Jane (Rick) Oberbroeckling and LeAnn
4(Tony) Kersey; and numerous nephews and nieces; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Jon R. Lowrance, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Jon Lowrance as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
